The Harlem Children’s Zone-Countee Cullen Community Center cordially invites you to be a guest at the Fourth Annual Youth Summit, April 21, 2011. The Youth Summit will serve as a forum for Middle School and High School youth to discuss, debate and get informed about issues that affect them. This year’s topics, surveyed by the young people, will be: Sex, HIV/Aids, Gang Violence and Drugs. The theme for this year is “Saving Our Own.”
Over 400 young people from all over New York City will participate in a day of workshops, debates and engaging activities with their peers. This year’s Summit promises to be the best yet! One panel, “Hip Hop & The Truth”, will focus on the myths and truths in the Hip Hop culture, including (but not limited to) the images portrayed in music, videos and/or media. The other panel, “True To The Game”, will deal with finding ways to avoid and/or combat the negativity that takes place in the Harlem Communities, such as gang violence, domestic abuse and drugs. I look forward to seeing you there! XOXO TEAM CHASITY!
